What Is The First Home Owners Grant?

The First Home Owners Grant is an Australian government initiative that is designed to help first home buyers get into a home sooner. It’s a one-off cash grant of $15,000 that is used to help first home buyers get a leg up when buying a home under the value of $750,000 in QLD. The grant is only applicable to homeowners that have never owned a home before and are paid per new home, not to each applicant.

The First Home Owners Grant has been instrumental in helping thousands of potential buyers get into the property market much sooner than they had ever expected to as the grant can be considered a part of your initial deposit and is paid upon settlement of the home.
